Rain of stars - web design

Open a new document in photoshop 322*400 set black color as backgroud.
Select the brush tool (B), then click in the brushes window. If you can’t see the panel go window > Options to show it.

In the brush panel select the brushes tab, then go to brush tip shape, choose star as shape and set size to 19px and the spacing value to 200%

the select Scattering, you can decide the scatter’s value, I’ve used 142%

Now, create another layer over your black background. Hold down the left button of your mouse while tracing the first line made of stars. Draw few lines always from top to bottom of the canvas but changing the opacity value of the brush tool, see the image below.

Now, layer > duplicate layer
Apply a blur filter, go to filter > blur > gaussian blur (2,5 amount) to the first layer of stars you've made.

Go to the upper layer and apply an outer glow

The opacity is set to 75%
Add few air brush circle in the middle of some stars with the opacity set to 50% with the same color of the outer glow, take a look at the picture.

Then, make another layer at the top of your document, select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) and create a shape as in picture in your canvas, then fill it with the Gradient tool (G) with white as foreground color and black as background. To draw a straight gradient hold down shift while drag the line from up to bottom.

Now set the layer's - the one with the gradient - blending mode to overlay.
Done.
